The guaranteed way to grow grass

Hydroseeding

From small residential yards and sidewalks to large highway construction projects. We seed all grass types and erosion-control vegetation.

Why should I hydroseed my project?

Hydroseeding offers several benefits over traditional seeding methods:

Uniform Coverage: Hydroseeding uses a slurry mixture of seed, mulch, fertilizer, and water, ensuring even distribution across large areas. This results in consistent growth and reduces the risk of patchy or uneven coverage.

Erosion Control: The mulch in the hydroseed mixture helps to protect soil from erosion by wind and water. It creates a stable surface that prevents sediment runoff, particularly on slopes and disturbed terrain.

Faster Germination: The moisture-retentive environment created by hydroseeding promotes quicker seed germination compared to broadcasting or hand-seeding methods. This leads to faster establishment of vegetation and a shorter time to achieve desired ground cover.

Cost-Effectiveness: Hydroseeding can be more cost-effective than sodding or traditional seeding, especially for large areas. It reduces labor costs and requires fewer resources for application and maintenance.

Versatility: Hydroseeding can be customized with different seed blends and mulch types to suit specific soil conditions, climate, and vegetation goals. This flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of projects, from residential lawns to large-scale land reclamation.

Overall, hydroseeding offers an efficient and effective solution for establishing vegetation, promoting healthy growth, and preserving soil integrity in various landscaping, erosion control, and restoration applications.

Hydroseed vs Sod

Hydroseeding offers several advantages over sodding:

Coverage and Adaptability: Hydroseeding provides more uniform coverage over irregular terrain and contours. It can be applied to slopes and hard-to-reach areas where laying sod would be challenging or impractical. Additionally, hydroseeding allows for customization with different seed mixes tailored to specific soil types and climate conditions.

Environmental Benefits: Hydroseeding promotes soil health and reduces erosion by establishing a stable vegetative cover. It minimizes soil disturbance compared to sodding, which involves the removal and transportation of large rolls of turf. Additionally, hydroseeding allows for the use of native or custom seed mixes that can support local ecosystems and biodiversity.

In summary, while sodding provides an instant green lawn, hydroseeding offers a cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and adaptable solution for achieving lush vegetation cover in various landscaping, erosion control, and restoration projects.

Typical Pricing

We have a very reasonable project minimum of $800 which includes up to 2,000 sq ft of fescue grass, fertilizer, lime, and hydromulch with tackifier. Additional footage starts at $.20/sq ft. Other seed mixes and site conditions will affect the price.
